Welcome Au Lune! In this play-by-post, intermediate RPG situated in modern-day Paris, France, all dogs are free to explore the city of lights free of leashes. Rules are wasted on their ears, and trust isn't distributed easily. This city has no room for weaknesses- it's eat or be eaten. But that doesn't mean their only enemy is each other- be careful of where you tread; The French can be fierce. Roam the city alone or with a companion, but either way, you're sure to find adventure- and trouble.

 It's A Face That Laughs When I Fail|

It’s like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes

Supernova hadn't been to the meadows in quite awhile. Since, she'd left the sea, and made her den near the river, life was much easier. Though the river was, fast, she liked the feeling of being carried away, but she did not enjoy the memories that the river previously gave her, the memory of her mother being forced away from her. She shivered as she recalled the cold memory. Shaking it off she continued. She was alone, as usual, but this time it wasn't by force, she didn't have any siblings nor friends, and it was un-likely that she would find any, at least not here.
It was just her, the ground, and the sky, as it always been for almost 3 years. She'd only been with her mother a year anyways, she'd already lived half her life without her.
......................................................................................................
Supernova stared at the meadow ahead, and couldn't see beyond in, all she could see was gold lush grasses for miles. She took a pawstep ahead---No two.---And layed, where she thought she was safe. She began licking her paws, for she hated knowing that were dirt in her toenails. She licked, and she licked, until no black was seen. She lifted herself up, off the ground, and listened. Mouse. Sure, it would only make a snack, but food was food, and no prey could be wasted. Not when other dog's were starving, she thought to herself. She sniffed, her brain telling her which way to go. Dog's didn't rely on sight for their survival, they mostly used hearing and smelling. She was hot on the unlucky mouse's trail, when she saw a brownish, grayish rodent in the distance. Preparing herself for the kill, she steadied herself into a pounce position, and lept. Though, the mouse saw her jumping and tried to get away, it was to late. Supernova was a skillful hunter and had made the kill, and had landed perfectly on the mouse. She was now carrying it back towards her den.

Should she eat it here? Save it for later? Carrying the mouse by it's tail she took it to her den, and decided to wait until later, though she was hungry, she would be hungrier later, she knew for sure. Besides, she more thirsty and hungry. She made her way to the river, and jumped in, not aware of the dangers that may be present. As, she made herself across the river, she lost her grip on the mouse. "Hey come back here!" She yelled. She wasn't about to give up the mouse that she just layed paws on. She stepped back into the river and lept towards the mouse. She didn't know it was just a sandbar...As, she ventured further and further she suddenly found herself under water, grasping for life. She knew how the mouse might of felt. She struggled and struggled, grasping for air, as she saw the sky again, but was pulled back under, once more. She was about to give up, when she found herself, on another sandbar.

As, she balanced herself, and prepared to leap up on the rock, she thanked Sirius (dog star) for her life. She leaped and let gravity to the rest. She was now on safe ground and making it towards her den, finally. She had lost her meal, but she wasn't dead. And, she could always kill another mouse. Maybe, Sirius was teaching her a lesson. But, why? She hadn't done anything wrong. She had only killed the mouse to survive and eat. She now, was traveling around the river so she wouldn't have to prepare the same fate, she almost died a few minutes ago. There was a log, from here to paw steps away from her den. She walked on the log, almost there until she fell in...again. "Why must Sirius do this to me!!" Only, this time she was safe, there was no rushing water, the river was calm here, so she was fine. She leaped out of the water, only this time she did NOT want to go to her den. She wanted to go back to the meadow.

She saw the meadow, of gold and lept over the tall grasses, and into a run. She ran and ran for what seemed like days and hours. She did not know if she would ever go back to her den. She hated it there, now. For she had almost died. Maybe it wasn't the right place for her to live. Maybe it was here. Ran and thought, she walked, and wondered, and she leaped and pondered. Until, finally she could run no more, and fell to the ground. She felt happier. She was once again, Supernova. The dog full of joy.

She fell into a deep sleep and dreamet. She was fully-restored.
